Most of our commissions are within Derbyshire which has enabled us to build strong relationships with several Local Authorities - most notably Amber Valley Borough Council and Derby City Council. Our main expertise is in houses and housing in all it’s formats from loft conversions and extensions through one off custom designed private houses to larger speculative developments of houses and apartments. We’ve also completed a number of barn and chapel conversions. Alongside this we have experience in designing industrial units and commercial buildings. The practice designed the Co-op store at Riddings and a small office conversion of an old stable for a business based in Ironville Recently we have designed some community orientated buildings including two phases of extensions to a local medical centre, refurbishment of two churches and an extension to a local church hall. We have a little experience of education buildings, David having designed a few classroom extensions whilst working for a well known Derby Practice. This is one area where we would like to develop our knowledge and expertise. Whilst a large secondary school might be a bit beyond our resources, we’re confident we could handle classroom or ancillary building extensions, or even the design of a smaller primary or infants school. |
